You are Here...to Love

Our Scripture reading for this evening was Mark 12:28-31:
28One of the scribes came near and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, he asked him, "Which commandment is the first of all?"29Jesus answered, "The first is, 'Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one; 30you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' 31The second is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

We talked about how Jesus gives a short answer to the question "Why am I here?":  to love.  Love God and love others!  And don't just love them, love them with all you've got --- with all your emotions, passions, thoughts, words, and deeds.  Really love.  That's what our week in Thunder Bay is all about.

The questions that we are consider for ourselves this evening are one that we would encourage you to contemplate also:  How are you being invited to love God more?  How are you being invited to love others more?

We are grateful to be here in Thunder Bay and for all those who have made it possible for us to be here!
